Artwork > Mississippi River Gorge Project

The Mississippi River Gorge series is the result of an extensive research process--from recording electromagnetic signals of plants to translating data through computer programs to uploading vector files into my new digitized embroidery machine. I dyed the organza from the cuttings I harvested from the plants. I chose six plants to document this moment in time and part of the Mississippi River gorge while capturing the plant’s ”voice” as global warming alters natural habitats and biodiversity.
